Del Jeanne

Hi!  I am Del Jeanne Mathews (sometimes "DJ" for short), and I live in Arlington, Texas.  My wonderful DH, Marvin, and I celebrated our 31st anniversary on November 28, 2006.  We have three handsome sons and two beautiful daughters-in-law.  Our oldest son, Christopher Alan, or "Cam," as we call him, has been teaching Spanish in a Dallas high school since 2002.  He met his beautiful wife, Eirene, during a year of language study in Spain.  Two years later, they were married here in Texas, on November 28, 2002.  Since joining the family, she has fallen in love with quilting, and does beautiful work (has a New Joy quilting frame for her machine).  Son number two, Michael Scott, has his own screen printing business, and married his lovely wife, Paige, on November 21, 2006 (logistical problems on the 28th, but close enough we can all celebrate together!)  Our youngest son, John Mark, presently living at home, has a job in Fort Worth, and enjoys making an occasional quilt.  With some help from Mom, he's teaching his girlfriend to enjoy it, too!

My sister, QuiltFriends member, Sharon Zeiner, introduced me to quilting in the spring of 1994, when she took me to a guild meeting as her guest.  I was hooked immediately!  While teaching full time, I wasn't able to do much quilting besides blocks of the month, but now I teach private voice and piano lessons on three days a week, so I'm squeezing in more quilting time.  I have many UFO's because there are so many beautiful fabrics and patterns . . . I am an active member of the Quilters' Guild of Arlington, and love being a part of QuiltFriends.

This is our family picture from Michael and Paige's wedding:  Eirene, Cam, John Mark, Paige with my mother in front (she lives with us, except when she's playing with great-grandbabies at my sister's!), Michael, Del Jeanne, Marvin.

Piecefully yours,
Del Jeanne

I love quilting and have plenty of material witnesses.
