Second Installment
Cutting
Cut One strips WOF (Width of Fabric) 3 7/8" (three and seven eighths inches) wide from the Medium fabric
Cut Two strips WOF 2 3/8" (two and three eighths inches) wide from the Light fabric
Cut One strip WOF 4 3/4" (four and three quarter inches) wide from the Dark fabric
Piecing
Step 1) From the Medium 3 7/8" strips sub cut into 6 squares 3 7/8" Also cut 3 (three) 3 1/2" squares and put these aside for later.
Step 2) Take the 3 7/8" squares and place the ruler on the diagonal of the square and cut it into two right sided triangles. Repeat until you have 12 triangles.
Step 3) Take the 2 3/8" light strips and cut 24 squares 2 3/8" Put 12 of these aside for the next installment..
Step 4) Take 12 of the 2 3/8" light squares and place the ruler on the diagonal of the square and cut it into two right sided triangles. Repeat until you have 24 triangles.
Step 5) Take the 4 3/4" strip of dark and cut 3 squares of 4 1/4, put these aside. From the remaining cut 6 strips of 2 3/8" by 4 3/4" cut these in half to make 12 squares of 2 3/8" Put these aside, Cut 6 strips of 2" by 4" and cut these in half to make 12 squares of 2"
Step 6) Sew one of the light triangles from step 4 to one of the 2" dark squares from step 5. when sewing line up the right angle of the triangle with a corner of the square, press towards the dark print

Step 7) Sew a second triangle to the above unit, again lining up the right hand corner of the triangle with the square corner

Repeat the last two steps until you have 12 units completed
Step 8) Take the triangles from step 2 and sew them to the above completed units to make a square.

Hint 1) When lining up the triangles to sew, match the two points of the square and the triangle and don't stretch the long length of the triangles as you are sewing them they have been cut on the bias and will be easy to pull out of whack. Just go slowly when sewing.
Hint 2) When sewing step 8 have the pieced triangle up (facing you) so that you can watch to make sure you don't stitch into the corner of the dark square but to go right next to the edge of it. else you will be practicing the foggy stitch
