Cutting
Cut Two strips WOF (Width of Fabric) 2" (two inches) wide from the Dark fabric, Cut from each strip a 10 1/2" by 2" leaving over 30" by 2" Put these aside for later
Cut One strip WOF 4 1/"4 from the light fabric, 3 squares of 4 1/4" from that strip
Piecing
Step 1) You need the 3 Light 4 1/4" squares from above, 12 Dark 2 3/8" squares from Installment 2.
Step 2) With right sides of fabric together, lay two of the Dark 2 3/8" squares on one of the Light 4 1/4" square, as shown. Using a ruler, draw a light pencil line diagonally, from top left corner to bottom right corner, this will be the cutting line later. Draw on either side of that cutting line a 1/4" seam line and sew along them. Cut apart on drawn line.

Step 3) Open the units up and press seams towards the dark fabric. With right sides together, lay one Dark 2 3/8" square on the sewn unit as shown and draw a diagonal line on wrong side of dark 2 3/8" square Again draw on either side of that line a 1/4" seam line and sew on them. Cut apart on drawn line and iron upwards the dark triangle. Repeat with other unit and the remaining smaller square. to make 4 flying geese blocks. Repeat this with the other 2 light squares and the 8 remaining smaller dark squares

You should end up with 12 flying geese units that have a light large triangle and 2 dark triangles.

Step 4) Repeat step 2 and 3 but use the 3 Dark 4 1/4" squares and the 12 Light 2 3/8" squares from Installment 2 that had been put aside. to make 12 Flying geese units that have large dark triangles and 2 smaller light triangles.

Step 5) sew the above two units together so the points of the geese are towards each other to make a 3 1/2" square unit, repeat until all 24 geese are sewn in sets of 2
should have 12 of
these unit A2's
