Just when you thought you had finished school! Don't worry, this is stuff you won't mind studying! Whether you are a seasoned quilt maker, or a beginner, you will find great information on these pages.
Much of the information is from "Quilter's Complete Guide", by Marianne Fons & Liz Porter. This is an excellent book, considered by many to be the quilter's bible!
If you have any tips you would like to see posted here, or if there is simply information you would like to see explained more clearly, please email Penny.

Are you sending your quilt top out to be machine quilted? Don't know how to calculate the square inches to equal the cost? Thanks to Patti B. for providing the calculation for us!
Measure length and width. Multiply length times the width. Then multiply that number by the rate being charged. For example: A quilt top that is 56 x 72 would be calculated as follows - 56" x 72" = 4032 square inches. 4032 x .01 = $40.32. Be SURE to check with your machine quilter regarding what her minimum charge is, fees differences for all over quilting, as opposed to turns for border quilting, batting fee, etc.
